Streetlife Museum of Transport
The Streetlife Museum of Transport is home to over 200 years of transport history spread across six galleries. This immersive world of bicycles, carriages, motorcars, railways and street life through the years is a visitor attraction not to be missed.
The museum showcases rare cars dating from 1897, a 1940s street reconstruction and the original Cottingham North signal box which was moved to the site brick by brick.
The original Museum of Commerce and Transport was opened in Hull in 1925. Many of the displays were extensively damaged in 1941. It re-opened as the Transport and Archaeology Museum in 1957. The transport collections are now based at the Streetlife Museum and the Archaeology collections are based at the Hull & East Riding Museum on the site of the original museum
