Moretonhampstead Motor Museum
Frank Loft, a former teacher sold his specialist college school in 2008 and began his second career as a car collector. Ultimately he took over the former bus depo in Moretonhampstead, which houses his museum since 2013. Today there are over 140 vehicles ranging from a 1905 Wolseley – one of just two survivors to a lilac Talbot Samba cabriolet. In between, there is a fascinating collection – such as the vintage 1929 Rolls Royce which belonged to Mrs Lilley of the Lilley & Skinner shoe empire, or the De Dion Bouton 2.9L Charabanc, commissioned by the Army to take officers to the Western front in France.
